ACK St. James Buru Buru Sacco (St. James Sacco) was registered in 2011 under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490) as a Savings and Credit Co-operative Society. The Sacco was established as an Anglican Church-based organization to serve members of its congregation at ACK St. James Church Buru Buru. However, through its 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, the Society extended its common bond and currently draws membership from the ACK Diocese of Nairobi Cathedral Archdeaconry.

St. James Sacco was founded with the objective of mobilizing savings and advancing credit facilities to its members, thereby promoting their economic interests in accordance with cooperative principles. Our objective remains to afford members an opportunity to accumulate savings and create a source from which loans can be extended to them at a fair and competitive rate of interest, as well as provide opportunities to control and use their funds for mutual benefit, including giving impressive returns on deposits and shares.

St. James Sacco offers Back Office Services Activity (BOSA) and is positioning itself for growth and transition to offer Front Office Services Activity (FOSA) in the near future, which would allow it to offer quasi-banking services to its members. At St. James Sacco, we are inspired by the potential we have to benefit our members and the community. We aspire to continue having a positive, lasting impact on the lives of our members and the larger community through mobilizing savings and advancing credit facilities, which to date has created value close to a billion Kenya Shillings. We aim to continue this through sound governance and appropriate and informed physical, institutional, and technological infrastructure in line with our vision and mission statements, while observing cooperative principles and our core values.
